10th June 2014: “BELL DAY”

Bell Day was celebrated on the 10th June’2014.it was the reopening day of the St.John’s CBSE School. Our school Correspondent and Sr.Principal Mrs.Nalini Wilson rang the bell and the school was declared open for the academic year 2014-15.Mrs.Nalini Wilson recalled that, it was this day 46 years back, Dr.Rajakumar, her father and founder of St.John’s Group of Institutions rang the first bell and it’s being continued till date in all their institutions.

15th July’2014: “KAMARAJ’S BIRTHDAY”

Our former Chief Minister of TamilNadu Shri K.Kamaraj’s Birthday was celebrated as ‘Educational Development Day’ throughout the Country. In our School, during assembly we had a speech on the “Biography of kamaraj”by the student of Social Club.’ Books on kamaraj’was displayed in the library for the students to go through. Rich Tributes were paid.


Various clubs were inaugurated on this day.Thiru.Sekar, Dist Secretary; Chennai Corporation administered the oath to the Student Club Secretaries. He also distributed the proficiency prizes to the students of all the classes for the academic year 2013-14.Mrs.Nalini Wilson, Correspondent and Sr.Principal presided over the function and Mrs.Sakunthala Rajakumar, Chairperson graced the occasion.

22nd July’14: “SPECIAL ASSEMBLY”

Special Assembly was organized and conducted by the XII Std students. They depicted a Mime and dance based on the theme’Believe; Become’.Our subject coordinators Mrs.Julet, Mrs.Chandra and Mr.Ramasubramaniam were the chief guests. Our Correspondent and Sr.Principal Mrs.Nalini Wilson presented shawls to all the subject coordinators, for their valuable support, guidance and service rendered by them.

23rd July’14: “FOUNDER’S DAY”

Our Beloved Founder Bishop Rev. Dr. Rajakumar’s Birthday was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Various Competitions were conducted for the students. The competitions were organized and conducted by the students of Maths Club.


KG Students observed ‘Fruit Salad Day’ on the 24th July’14.They brought different varieties of fruit with the help of the class teacher, they made delicious fruit salad and distributed to all the teachers and Supervisory heads. Teachers explained the importance of fruits and that, they have to eat at least one kind of fruit a day to live healthy.


  • ‘Hiroshima Day’ was observed in Morning Assembly.
  • Deborah VIII B of Social club gave a speech about ‘HIROSHIMA DAY’. The great disaster that happened in Japan by the explosion of atom bombs by the USA. She stressed the need for peace and the Countries should use ‘Nuclear power’ only for construction process and not to destroy the Countries.
  • SENIOR CITIZEN DAY was also observed on the same day.Prajan of III A spoke about SENIOR CITIZENS DAY. He emphasized that youngsters should respect senior citizens and should help them in their need.
  • Later, the same day ‘SPELL BEE’ contest was conducted by the English club Mr.Nandakumar and Mrs. Hannah of English Dept conducted the programme, ten students of std XI&XII participated .This activity will be held on all Wednesday’s during the assembly with an intention to improve the Vocabulary of the Students.
